Economic Evaluation of Micro-turbines in Iranian Electric Industry

Today the electric utility industry is being restructured from monopoly and regulated structure to competitive and deregulated structure. Changes in electricity markets, in technology, economics and regulatory structures have created a new interest in small-scale generation and efficiency resources, dispersed throughout the lower voltage networks. Many reasons have been developed and encouraged using DG (Distributed Generation) in different countries such as power system restructuring, DG technologies advances and price increases. The most important problems of many developing countries is the high cost of finance and limited access to financial resources because of the electric industry is very costly. Iranian Electric Industry (IEI) is encountered to financial resources deficiency because of highly load growth and deficit of private and foreign investment. In this paper, one of the most important of DG's has been evaluated with different perspectives and scenarios. In the other words, the economic evaluations of micro-turbines have been presented with respect to national, utility and customer perspectives. Also, the results of this study have been shown for different network connection levels.
